According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of the Arak Metropolitan Municipality, this measure has been placed on the municipality's agenda with the aim of reducing water consumption, increasing efficiency in irrigating trees and vegetation, and preventing the waste of water resources, especially in the conditions of water scarcity and recent droughts. The use of a drip irrigation system, while delivering water in a targeted manner to plant roots, helps preserve the vitality of green spaces and reduce evaporation and surface runoff. According to this report, implementing this plan will bring significant results, including substantial savings in water consumption, reduced maintenance costs for green spaces, and improved vegetation quality. This measure is also considered an effective step toward sustainable urban development and improving the urban landscape. In recent years, the Arak Municipality, given the limitations of water resources, has placed various measures on its agenda, including the development of modern irrigation systems, the use of treated wastewater, revising the planting pattern of low-water-demand plants, and increasing oversight of water consumption in urban green spaces. The implementation of the drip irrigation system in Shahid Ghodousi Boulevard is also part of these programs, which is carried out with the aim of preserving the environment and ensuring citizens' welfare. It is worth noting that the Arak Municipality intends to gradually implement this plan in other streets and green spaces across the city as well, so that, in addition to confronting water stress, an effective step is taken toward protecting the urban environment.
